The Kastellian civilisation refers to the civilisation who took over the Kastel-Knia star system and a few other systems in its neighborhood. They originated from the Kastel planet.

They're currently applying isolationism laws.

History

The Kastellian civilisation is divided in two main eras. The antique era and the modern era the main event separating both eras is the merge.

Old Ages

The Kastellian civilization emerged 474 million galactic years after the Big Bang. The first ever community was name Tenelika, they were the only community at that time but they spoke their own language. They had to left their homeland when the initial drought hit, which led them to divide to a few other communities like the Nekatrims who went to eastern places and Latinikees who went much northern. Tenelikas came back later after the drought and settled back on a more sustainable foundation.

The Nekatrim community

Much later the Nekatrim community made a breakthrough that settled them to increase their progress rate. They carved learning and gathering knowledges on their environment but their body and their brain couldn't handle so much learning, causing degenerative illnesses. They decided to bring their mind into a simulated environment where their individual knowledges could grow without limit.

Parallel Progression

As the Nekatrim progressed quickly in their environment, other communities also started to exploit ressources and harness energy, their population grew fast and they quickly lacked ressources to sustain themselves, they had to innovate a lot to be able to keep producing food. Latinike community made high efficiency farms, and developped nuclear fusion power plants.

Aside Nekatrims keept on improving their simcenters, and especially their energy efficiency. Nekatrims were far more efficient than any other community. They only used solar power and their simulation technologies were consuming much less ressources than sustaining any other living being.

The merge

When most communities started to lack out of innovation, they made their path towards starvation. The Nekatrim community suggested the other communities to join them but all of them refused, as they found this illusory. They couldn't imagine loosing their body as most community proned manual work.

Nekatrim territory were rather small compared to others and Latinikees noticed this, they subsequently decided to accept the offer from Nekatrims and offered their fusion technology in addition. They were the first to do so but it clearly showed other communities it was not illusory, motivating almost all of them to accept this offer.

Much more simcenters were built and fusion energy became much more spread over their planet.

Venturing out

Nekatrim community governed every scientific initiative on the sim, they also had to start exploring space in order to keep learning. They allied with Latinike and designed various types of ships to learn and discover things in their star system and further. Their discoveries grew, pushing them to establish colonies all around. They kept a constant expansion rate until a certain point where then suddenly introduced a set of isolation laws. No one outside them knows why they isolated and stopped their expansion.

Technology

Energy

Fossil fuels didn't existed on Kastel and Krates Acestas so their only power sources was either biomass, geothermy, solar power.

Biomass energy

Biomass energy was the main powersource used on Krates Acestas as its vegetation produced alot of hydrocarbon that could be burnt in order to extract energy.

Geothermic energy

Geothermy was rather rarely used outside of remote areas in Kastel-Knia.

Solar energy

Solar power sources were most common sources used before the merge. Nekatrims and Latinikees improved it with orbital concentraton arrays.

Nuclear fission energy

Nuclear fission was well known but considered useless before the early energy outages preceding the merge. Powerplants has been deployed and were using nuclear fuels as much as they could with breeder designs.

Nuclear fusion energy

Fusion nuclear power belonged to Latinike community. They deployed a large amount of stellarator based fusion reactors on their territory and added a lot more when the merge began. First generation fusion reactors only fuse hydrogen isotopes but second generation and third generation were able to use helium and heavier nuclei as fusion fuels. Those also required less maintenance, making second generation the most deployed type of power source on Kastel.

Information Technologies

Nekatrim community was by far the most prominent in this domain. They use various tricks derived from quantum physics to get as close as the physical limits of computing, with an insance efficiency. Their most deployed compute technology makes use superconducting quantum junctions to build self-clocked, asynchronous processors. Those needs to be supercooled to achieve superconductivity and reduce noise as much as possible.

Cryogeny

Nekatrim cryogenic technologies made use of reversed quantum tunneling to improve thermodynamic pumping within their cryocoolers.

Culture

Kastellians spoke the Kallestiyes as a language, their writing system has been recovered and is now well known but their phonetics is still subject to discussion.
