| === The antique era === | | === The Nekatrim community === |
| The Kastellian civilization emerged 474 million galactic years after the Big Bang. They were divided in several autonomous communities with their own development, language and culture. One of them made a breakthrough that settled them to increase their progress rate. As their knowledges over their world increased, they quickly learned how to make use of their planet's energy. They carved learning and gathering knowledges on their environment but their body and their brain couldn't handle so much learning, causing degenerative illnesses. During this primitive period, the population grew very quickly and at some point they reached the maximum vagatation capacity. This has been later called the First Antique Crysis which led to the deployment of hundreds of nuclear fusion reactors, those were comparable to stellarators. | | The Kastellian civilization emerged 474 million galactic years after the Big Bang. | | |
| Without this capacity limit the population grew even more, until they were up to 44 billions individuals. At that point they touched a physical capacity limit when they covered every square meters of land they could cover, the Second Antique Crysis, leading them to look at space.
| |
| | |
| === The interplanetary war ===
| |
| The Ancient Kastellians had practically exhausted all their resources and exploited every square meter of their planet when they decided to colonize Krates Acestas. Their space travel technology and advanced weaponry techniques allowed them to easily colonise Krates Acestas knowing that the Krates had only just discovered the existence of electromagnetism... However, Krates Acestas being mostly swampy, the Ancient Kastellians had great difficulty progressing against the Krates who knew their environment perfectly. The Ancient Kastellians then decided to turn to Acestas Arir.
| |
|
| |
|
| The small moon of Krates Acestas did not disappoint them because it had many deposits of nakillium, an extremely rare resource in the universe. The Ancient Kastellians quickly discovered the amazing properties of said crystal: when ionizing rays the crystalline structure of nakillium mutates and causes significant gravitational waves that can create all types of anomalies.
| | === Parallel Progression === |
| | As the Nekatrim progressed quickly in their environment, other communities also started to exploit ressources and harness energy, their population grew fast and they quickly lacked ressources to sustain themselves, they had to innovate a lot to be able to keep producing food. Latinike community made high efficiency farms, and developped nuclear fusion power plants. |
|
| |
|
| In the meantime, they still tried to colonise Krates Acestas, which led to a lot of life losses.
| | Aside Nekatrims keept on improving their simcenters, and especially their energy efficiency. Nekatrims were far more efficient than any other community. They only used solar power and their simulation technologies were consuming much less ressources than sustaining any other living being. |
| | |
| They used it to work on a bomb capable of dislocating a planet by overloading the nakillium to cause the collapse of its crystalline structure releasing a shock wave distributed over the entire surface of the celestial body where the event takes place, which inevitably causes its destruction...
| |
| | |
| This unfortunately happened to Acestas Was, the second moon of Krates Acestas, which has been used to install a nakillium research lab. Upon this destruction, the Krates decided to allow the kastellians to use their land with the following conditions: make use of it with maximum erfficiency, merge both civilisation into a common one and prohibit usage of nakillium, forever. The kastellians accepted themselves the conditions because they were also afraid of the threat the nakillium made.
| |
| | |
| A lot of Ancient Kastellian died during this period, the losses has been estimated at around 19 billions on Krates Acestas and 3 billions on Acestas Was. But also the Krates populations has been reduced due to the war. They reached 8 billions which has been reduced to 6 and a half billions.

|
| === The merge === | | === The merge === |
| The merge refers to both the end of war and their digitisation into the computer space. | | When most communities started to lack out of innovation, they made their path towards starvation. The Nekatrim community suggested the other communities to join them but all of them refused, as they found this illusory. They couldn't imagine loosing their body as most community proned manual work. |
|
| |
|
| Major developments were made in the fields of superconducting computing, genetic algorithms, neural networks and self-learning software. Allowing the entire population to be simulated within a network of computer. Most building were also converted into datacenters, called simcenters and power plants with adaptations made to be compatible with the self-controlled robotic systems that ran the civilisation for centuries after. During the merge their architecture dropped from sumptuous and nature-inspired to functional and lifeless rectillinear buildings.
| | Nekatrim territory were rather small compared to others and Latinikees noticed this, they subsequently decided to accept the offer from Nekatrims and offered their fusion technology in addition. They were the first to do so but it clearly showed other communities it was not illusory, motivating almost all of them to accept this offer. |
|
| |
|
| The merge concluded about one galactic year after the end of the previous war.
| | Much more simcenters were built and fusion energy became much more spread over their planet. |
|
| |
|
| === The modern era === | | === Venturing out === |
| That era started as soon as the civilisation started to live within the computer space, allowing to unlock conciousness collaboration from all around their world. This made them progressing way much quickier than anyone could expect, after about a few years they replaced almost all their superconducting computers with quantum computers dealing with 12-dimensions qubits within their simcenters.
| | Nekatrim community governed every scientific initiative on the sim, they also had to start exploring space in order to keep learning. They allied with Latinike and designed various types of ships to learn and discover things in their star system and further. Their discoveries grew, pushing them to establish colonies all around. They kept a constant expansion rate until a certain point where then suddenly introduced a set of isolation laws. No one outside them knows why they isolated and stopped their expansion. |
|
| |
|
| This led them to discoveries allowing them to do faster-than-light space travel and settle further out of their system, their ship were as basely designed as their buildings, looking closer to simple monoliths than spaceships.
| | == Technology == |
|
| |
|
| They settled in about five other systems making them a interstellar species and their population growth rasied to more than one hundred billions of individuals.
| | === Energy === |
| | | Fossil fuels didn't existed on Kastel-Knia so their only power sources was either biomass, geothermy, solar, or nuclear power. |
| === The civil war === | |
| Their technological and scientific progression on biology pushed them towards the debate of returning into a biological form. This divided the population so much that activists started to destroy simcenters, both on hardware and software, leading to insane amount of losses about millions every months. About a eighth of the population decided to come back to a biological form, transfering their conciousness into physical bodies.
| |
| | |
| Seeing this, a small group of about 700 millions intellectual individuals decided to insulate with the rest of the network. They started working on a way to escape the war. They made a ship with an embarked last generation quantum computer and they dediced to use the nakillium to make a gravity catalyst and travel with much more efficiency.
| |
| | |
| They needed a pilot to drive the ship and as their conciousness structure were way to hard to simulate efficiently they engineered an artificial intelligence called Reks Lih. This AI would have to be in charge of discovering new civilisations and settle permanent links with them. They gave an artificial body to Reks Lih with the image of Ancient Kastellians, which could be much friendful than cubic monoliths.
| |
| | |
| The war finally concluded with the destruction of almost all simcenters. The biological forms also extincted because of sterility and illnesses. Leaving only remnants of the previous old civilisation now defunct.
